It's official: the fall 2024 Conference of the World Union of Wholesale will be held in Rimini. This is an important achievement for the entire city, the result of the tireless work of Caar (Centro Agro Alimentare Riminese) and the Municipality of Rimini, at the proposal of Caar President Gianni Indino, who had been pursuing a strategic vision for some time: to host the world assembly of the food market sector in Rimini.

New timetables for agri-food markets the focus of a workshop organized in Milan by the Italmercati business network, of which CAAR is a member.

CAAR President Gianni Indino: "Aware of the critical issues that this may entail in the immediate future, we will also address this issue with the operators by going back to the territory to confront producers, wholesalers, retailers, and hawkers-nothing will be done on their heads, but as administrators we cannot fail to look at the challenges of the future."

Rimini has its own "Solidarity Logistics Platform". Thanks to the efforts of the Rimini Agri-Food Center, area nonprofits will have significant quantities of fresh, top-quality fruits and vegetables available free of charge to be used for the needs of those most in need.

Present at the Caar for the launch of this important initiative were the Bishop of Rimini Nicolò Anselmi, representatives of the Police Force, including the provincial commander of the Rimini Guardia di Finanza Col. t.ST Alessandro Coscarelli, and city councilors Francesca Mattei and Kristian Gianfreda.

During the event, we met with Undersecretary for Agriculture La Pietra, Coldiretti President Prandini and numerous executives to discuss strategies for the future of the sector: a future that could also pass through Rimini, which has been renewed support for its candidacy as the 2024 venue for Wowm, the world conference of wholesale markets."

Watch out for opportunities in the NRP for fruit and vegetable markets as well, the CAAR participated in recent days in the call for proposals that makes available non-repayable funding for the expansion, renovation and modernization of fruit and vegetable markets and logistics services, with the reduction of environmental impacts through energy upgrades and reduction of food waste.
